Tumblr changed something

In other news

belovedofthewoods:

My Tumblr feed was insanely easy to catch up on this morning.

So there’s that.

Can we all just take a second to appreciate this opening paragraph on my paper earlier this semester about my experience here at Tumblr omg

I wanna know how you continued from “one of the last place one would expect to have someone come up behind them and whisper, “How often do you masturbate.”

That is probably the best goddamn hook I have ever read.

Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson on NPR right now!

And he’s explaining the story of Krypton and wormholes and Superman.

Throwback Thursday

I took a screenshot to commemorate this Tumblr milestone and added the janitor…ya know, for fun. ^_^

All I have to say is that if tumblr isn’t working like a fucking dream after next Saturday, I’m going to be so angry.

Checked out a blog that ‘liked’ one of my posts

It’s a porn blog. I had to close that window with a quickness.

Currently undecided on blocking.

Or checking them out, uh, when everyone’s asleep.

FYI

If you’re one of my new “followers” who have the default profile picture and your homepage is Untitled with nothing on it and/or one or two pictures you’ll be getting blocked.

I love robots.

Spambots…not so much.

When your dash does this, you have to drink.

If Tumblr were a printed media

it would be delivered from a paper towel roll that did not deplete.

What is this weird thing going in Tumblr

I know I’ve scrolled past some of these posts

But I’m seeing them again?

#DejaTumblrVu

“[Tumblr] rocks! Why? Because unlike Facebook, I have a clean slate. Instead of being associated with my name and my real life being, I am a newly founded pseudonym if I so choose. No one knows that page is mine except for the selective friends I may choose or ask to follow me. But Tumblr isn’t about seeing what my friends are up to. In fact, I know the creators of less than a handful of the dozens of blogs I follow. Because of this, it turns into a tool for discovery, following members of the community who share my interests versus my friends who can get boring seeing as, at least during the school year, I know what’s going on in their lives every day. But these bloggers, who live lives I don’t see first hand, are neat to read about; they voice opinions that I care about and are hard to find organized anywhere else in such a way, and they share new things that few of my friends know about (which is why I mostly reblog: passing along the things that I love).”

An anonymous teenager on Quora explains why a parent’s “15-year old daughter wastes hours upon hours everyday mindlessly scrolling rapidly through her ‘endless’ tumblr stream.” Quora: How do teenagers waste hours upon hours consuming Tumblr?

FJP: Only thing we might add: it’s not just teenagers that spend hours endlessly scrolling.

The discovery aspect of this is what I love most about Tumblr.

There’s so much more on the internet than I had ever imagined…the science, design, and even the oddball stuff is all wonderful.

Thanks everyone for sharing your interests. It’s what makes you interesting.

I like interesting ^_^
